Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We have full Workers Compensation Insurance and Public Liability Insurance to $10 Million. We are happy to provide our clients with copies of Certificates of Currency for one or both of these policies upon request.

Yes. We take care to ensure we maintain our high level of safety. All our employees are fully compliant with WHS requirements, having received full WHS training that includes a Work cover induction and Working at Heights Certification.

We complete routine internal safety checks on our work practices, which are fully documented and are audited yearly. Information about our policies, procedures and practices, and a copy of our Safety Management Plan can be provided to our clients upon request.

Our employees are always fully equipped with all the personal protective equipment they need to complete the work required. Where necessary, our employees will wear gloves and eye protection. When working at heights our employees are equipped with full body harnesses and ropes. If we are working on a flat or tin roof, our employees are equipped with portable anchor points to connect harnesses and ropes to.

Access is the only factor that limits the height at which our employees can work. Our ladders can comfortably reach a four to five storey roof. If there is access through a manhole, we can work over five storeys.

Ridge capping holds your roof tiles in place, helping to prevent their movement or slippage, and bridges the gap at the peak of your roof where the tops of each slope meet (known as the ridge). The pointing is the material that seals the join, holding the ridge tiles together and bonding them to the top row of tiles on each slope.

If the pointing on your roof has begun to deteriorate it can crack and the bedding under the tiles can begin to break  down. When this happens, roof tiles are liable to loosen and move and small pieces of mortar can fall away from the tiles, allowing water to seep under roof tiles and enter your roof cavity.

You should perform regular checks of your roof, paying particular attention to the pointing. Regular roof maintenance is the key to safeguarding the health of your roof and ensuring it is able to adequately perform the job of protecting you and your home from the elements – and your ridge cap pointing is integral to this.

If your roof is exhibiting any of the following problems, it needs to be repaired as soon as possible:

  • cracked, bald or missing shingles or tiles,
  • corrosion or obvious rust holes in the metal sheeting of your roof,
  • curling, blistering, or buckling of your roofing material,
  • damaged flashing,
  • sagging of the roof deck,
  • signs of water damage or leaking in your ceiling,
  • light showing through the roof,
  • loose material or signs of wear around chimneys, pipes, or vents,
  • lichen or moss growing on your roof

Other signs to look for, which may indicate problems with your roof that may require repair, include:

  • dark spots or trails,
  • signs of wood rot in your roof cavity,
  • signs of excess moisture in your home, include sagging ceilings and growth of mould on your walls and/or ceiling

The extent of the damage to your roof, roof cavity, ceiling or other parts of your home’s interior will determine whether your roof needs to be repaired or requires partial or complete replacement. We recommend having a professional perform an onsite inspection of your roof, to determine whether any damage can be quickly repaired, or your roof requires more extensive repairs or needs to be replaced.

Pristine Roof Maintenance’s experienced roofing and guttering specialists can clean and check your roof and provide you with reliable advice on the best course of action for solving your roofing issues.

Yes. We supply and install gutter guards at a very competitive rate. We use and recommend a metal gutter guard called ‘Leaf Stopper’ as it does not deteriorate like other gutter guards on the market.

We can also supply and install downpipe guards, which are often just as effective as gutter guards and can be a much more cost-effective solution in both the short- and long-term.

When you hire us to provide roof and gutter maintenance services, we will remove all built up debris from your roof, valleys, gutters, and will flush your downpipes as necessary. We will inspect your gutters, valleys, downpipes, and roof, and we will seal or repair any cracked roof tiles.

We will take before and after photos of all our work and send you a full report about the work we have done, highlighting any issues or potential problems we have identified while performing general roof maintenance.

If we identify areas where more substantial roof repairs are needed, we can provide you with a quote for this work. We will not undertake this work until you have approved the quote, and there is no obligation for you to go ahead with the quoted work.

No, unless you would prefer to be. For most maintenance and repair activities, we can easily access your roof using our ladders. For flushing of downpipes, we simply need access to a water tap.

We bag and remove the debris we collect from your roof and gutters. Once we have finished the job, we will completely cleanup any mess we have created and remove any accumulated debris from your property. To do this we require access to all common property, and we may also need to access private courtyards and balconies.

We provide services to all clients within the Greater Sydney (Sydney metropolitan?)area.
